Ascending Hikes – Herman Lake

We'll ascend steeply up the Herman Gulch trail, then level out through the meadows, before the final ascent. The lake is a great reward for the effort to get there.

Meet at Wooly Mammoth, Section BB, at 7:00am for a prompt departure at 7:15am. The drive to the TH is about 45 mins and there is a rest room here.

Directions to the TH

This is a lovely, varied hike on a good trail. It is steep and rocky at first then travels through forests and meadows before a final ascent above tree line. Expect expansive views near the top. The weather is changing so dress warm and we'll take breaks to adjust clothing. We'll have lunch by the lake but it may be too cold for a dip.
