We'll be hiking a variety of trails in Elk Meadow Park starting at the Elk Meadow Park East Trailhead, taking an out-n-back approach to Bergen Peak, avoiding SWA land, which requires fishing or hunting licenses for each person in the group. We'll experience a variety of terrain, from open meadows, to forest, and a beautiful summit, including a good list of scenic views. We'll stop for lunch/snack at/near the summit. Our pace will be determined by the strength, stamina, and endurance of the group. Once off the summit, we'll return along the same approach trail and ending with a stroll along the Founders Trail affording us great views of Elk Meadow Park. This trail passes through two jurisdictions: Elk Meadow Park, Denver Mountain Parks, avoiding the Bergen Peak Wildlife Area. (Bergen Peak OnB - CalTopo)
