Ascending Hikes – Apex Trailhead - Apex and Enchanted Forest Trail Loop
Apex Park provides a popular, accessible foothills experience minutes from downtown Golden. A stream runs alongside a trail in part of the park, and a dense forest provides shady areas on the west end.

Ascend the short Argos Trail to the Magic Mountain Trail and the longer Apex Trail to the turnaround at Lookout Mountain Road before descending via the Enchanted Forest Trail to the Magic Mountain Trail before the short Argos Trail to the Apex Trailhead. We'll ascend at the pace of the slowest hiker, making frequent front and rear leader transitions during the course of the hike. Expect to return to trailhead between 12:00pm-1:00pm based on group dynamics, conditioning and pacing.
