  • Mileage: 7.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,000 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 8,783 ft
  • Pace: Moderate

We will start at the Miller Gulch TH, then hike south on a forest service road for about two miles, then off-trail for the rest of the day where we will need to posthole through snow.  The hike will be 7 miles RT with 2000’ of elevation gain.  We will first ascend unnamed 8650’ (about 900’) then Redskin Mtn (another 1100’) in one big figure 8.  If we navigate accurately, we should pop out of the woods right at our cars at the end of the day.

There are two options for meeting up:
  1. Erika to coordinate a meet up at the 285 Twin Forks PnR for a 7:15 departure.
  2. Everyone to meet at the Staples parking lot in Conifer at 7:30.
As you drive south on US 285, you will pass Aspen Park (there is a King Soopers there), then another few miles to Conifer.  At the Sinclair/Stinker gas station turn right off 285, then a left at the stoplight.  We will group up at the 285 side of the Staples parking lot just before the Dutch Brothers drive-through coffee shop.  As a landmark I have a white Subaru Outback with a roof top cargo box.
