Advanced Snowshoe – Berthoud Pass - Second Creek TH to Twin Cones
This snowshoe hike along Second Creek to Twin Cones offers a serene journey through snowy pine forests and open alpine meadows, surrounded by stunning views of the Continental Divide. Along the way, the Broome Hut provides a cozy spot to warm up, enjoy a snack, and take in the peaceful winter landscape. The final push to Twin Cones rewards hikers with breathtaking panoramic vistas of snow-capped peaks and the vast wilderness beyond. This trip is an attempt to accommodate the waitlist for the Feb 3, 2025 Twin Cones Snowshoe Trip.

Embarking on a snowshoe adventure along Second Creek to the Twin Cones is like stepping into a winter wonderland painted with strokes of pristine white and dappled sunlight. The trail winds through enchanting forests where frost-laden trees stand as silent sentinels, leading to expansive alpine meadows glittering like a sea of diamonds under the sun. Midway, the Broome Hut emerges as a welcoming haven, its rustic charm offering respite and camaraderie, as the warmth of the wood stove thaws chilled fingers and hearts. Energized, the ascent continues to the Twin Cones, where sweeping vistas unfold - a dramatic panorama of jagged peaks and rolling valleys cloaked in snow, an awe-inspiring reward for the adventurous soul who dares to traverse this breathtaking high-country realm.
