About
Colorado Mountain Club Press
CMC Press is Colorado Mountain Club's publishing house. With over 75 titles in print, CMC Press is one of our fastest-growing divisions—and most popular perks of membership. As Colorado’s go-to press for authentic outdoor recreation guides, our books are available right here or at your favorite outdoor retailers, bookstores, and gift shops throughout the Mountain West. Locals can browse all of our books in person at the Colorado Mountain Club office in Golden.
Our hiking, climbing, and scrambling guidebooks cover Colorado, Utah, California, and beyond. CMC Press also produces guides for skiing and snowshoeing, hiking with children, field guides for wildflowers and geology, outdoor skills books, Colorado climbing history, and even cooking and coloring books. Many of these local gems are written and field-checked by members of the Colorado Mountain Club, who, like you, are outdoor enthusiasts dedicated to exploring—and preserving—the nearby natural world.
The Colorado Mountain Club has been actively publishing for nearly a century. One of our most definitive books, Guide to the Colorado Mountains (or Ormes, as it is affectionately known), has been in continuous publication for 60 years, with more than 250,000 copies sold to date. Some of our bestselling books include:
The Colorado Trail: The Official Guidebook
