As we step into a new year, we want to express our deep gratitude to our members, volunteers, and supporters for making 2024 a year of exploration, connection, and education. Your passion and dedication have fueled incredible opportunities for outdoor recreation and learning.

By the Numbers: Trips

In 2024, the Colorado Mountain Club led 1,613 trips, providing transformative experiences for 8,968 participants across a variety of activities:

  • Hiking Trips: 908 (56%) | 5,523 participants
  • Climbing Trips: 194 (12%) | 868 participants
  • Other Trips: 182 (11%) | 825 participants
  • Snowshoeing Trips: 136 (8.4%) | 801 participants
  • Biking Trips: 66 (4%) | 423 participants
  • Scrambling Trips: 65 (4%) | 249 participants
  • Backpacking Trips: 62 (4%) | 279 participants

These adventures were made possible thanks to the Club's 482 trip leaders, whose expertise and enthusiasm helped ensure safety and enjoyment for all.

By the Numbers: Courses

Our Education & Adventure department offered 247 courses, engaging 3,315 students in skills-based, hands-on learning. Course highlights include:

  • Climbing Courses: 62 (25%) | 468 students
  • Wilderness Medicine/Risk Management Courses: 35 (14%) | 587 students
  • Youth Programs: 41 (16%) | 325 students
  • Avalanche Education: 24 (8%) | 258 students
  • Risk Management Courses: 15 (9%) | 672 students
  • Youth Climbing Programs: 16 (6%) | 128 students
  • Other Courses: 54 (22%) | 877 students

These courses empower participants with critical outdoor skills and foster a deeper connection to Colorado’s natural landscapes.

We are thrilled to embark on another year of inspiring outdoor experiences. In 2025, we aim to expand our programming, engage even more participants, and strengthen partnerships that open doors to adventure and learning.
