Join us (kids are free!) for an evening of discussion about preservation, conservation and regeneration of the Land we tread upon in Boulder County and how you can be part of its enrichment, and yours.
Rocky Mountain Indigenous Dancers will lead us off with how their culture has cared through connection with the Land. Learn how the dance in full-regalia, although beautiful to behold, is about physically and spiritually connecting with the land and by doing so giving to the Land. When connected to someone, like the Land, your instinct is to nurture and protect, to give all and take only what you need.
Join award-winning filmmaker, speaker, and founder of NatureRx, Justin Bogardus, as he offers a much-needed prescription for hopeful solutions during this critical moment in time and between humans and nature, often referred to as the polycrisis. Spolier Alert: Justin will be sharing some of his worldwide smash viral nature comedy videos in this fun and humorous exploration of real-world solutions. With a dose of humor and nature (two timeless prescriptions for whatever ails you), Justin will share research-backed tips on how reconnecting with nature not only helps preserve our environment but also nurtures our mental and physical well-being.
Justin first gained international acclaim when his series of comedic spoof drug commercials, called NatureRx, went viral, leading to filming and speaking engagements across the globe, including a TEDx Talk and a keynote address alongside Dr. Jane Goodall at the IUCN World Conservation Congress. Today, NatureRx.org is a Boulder-based, award-winning storytelling and incubation hub that champions nature-based solutions through powerful films, storytelling, and collaborative projects, alongside the 501c3 non-profit NatureRx Media Foundation.
At this event, Justin will highlight how being in and caring for nature can enhance our health and well-being, while showcasing NatureRx’s work with local partners to foster land preservation, conservation, and regeneration. Don’t miss this opportunity to be inspired, entertained, and to learn how you can joing the NatureRx movement - how you can nurture the land—and yourself.
Representatives from Indian Peaks Wilderness Association, Wilderness Restoration Volunteers, Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, Colorado Mountain Club and others will be there to educate us on their roles, priorities and how we can be more involved - hands on the Land, letting your voice be heard and sharing some of your personal, spiritual and financial wealth.
