7:30 Mine Trail

This historical trail passes many mining relics on the way up to the Griffin Monument, and offers spectacular views up and down I-70.

A short but fairly steep hike up an old mining road, the trail gains over 1400 ft in 2 miles, with a few spurs to add on more mileage if wanted. The trail goes past many old mining remnants and ends at the Griffin Monument and a small waterfall. There are QR codes along the way to learn more about the mining history.

The Monument is dedicated to Clifford Griffin, younger brother of Heneage, who for many years owned and managed the 7:30 Mines. Heneage was a successful miner and entrepreneur, but Clifford remains the source of many interesting (if not always factual) folktales.

The trail is a public right of way, but the properties it crosses are private, and you are asked to respect the rights of these landowners.

The TH is located at 810 Willis Street, at the eastern end of Silver Plume.

Clear Creek County provides details about the trail's history and the monument.
