Photography Section September Meeting

Photo Section:  We will meet 9/10/22 11am at Lake Mary for social time, bring a picnic lunch if you like. Visit the visitors center for a map and then continue along 64th Avenue, then a left turn on Havana St will bring you to the parking area for Lake Mary. There is a small picnic shelter just down the trail from the parking area by Lake Mary on Havana St. Look to your right as you approach the lake for the covered shelter.

The lake has some macro photograph opportunities as there are numerous flowers, dragon flies, bees, and even a some Monarch butterflies. Sometime around noon we will then head out for the wildlife drive. There are sections that are wide open prairie and then a few stretches with stands of trees where we encountered deer. The refuge is also home to Bison, Elk have been visiting according to one report, and there are numerous raptors and prairie dog colonies.
