SIGN UP WITH LEADERS TO RESERVE SPACE AT KOA BASIC CABIN FRIDAY NOV 5. Cabin has space for total 6 people including leaders. If you wish to stay at KOA cost is $10. Your space is reserved when check received. Sat 11/6 hike Picketwire Canyon, Comanche National Grassland to see dinosaur tracks & petroglyphs.

Details

Walk down into the canyon 250 ft and hike dirt to the dinosaur tracks.There are some petroglyphs along the way. See attached link below.

Notes

KOA HAS HEATERS IN EACH ROOM IF ITS "TOO COLD" IN ROOM. Bathrooms and showers are in main bldg a short walk away. KOA cabin has 2 roms. If  you wish to cook meal you have to cook outside w/camp stove. BRING SLEEP BAG & CAMP STOVE IF NEEDED. Low temps camping could be 30-40, likely highs 60's.

We can take more that 6 people if you want to make to make additional KOA or other overnite accomodations, or show up at KOA LaJunta in morning at 8am. KOA HAS TENT SITES, AND ANOTHER CABIN MAY BE AVAILABLE.

We will drive together out to the trailhead from LaJunta KOA.

Leaders were last there 10+ yr ago. There will be some exploration to find petroglyphs. It is not necessary to cross the river to see the dinosaur tracks.

 

This is a Bobcat trip.
