This is a great late season hike.  Part of the hike will be on a Forest Service road, and some will be off trail.  If conditions permit, the majority will be off trail.  We will hike through part of the area that burned in the Buffalo Creek Fire in 1996.  Some of the off trail will involve up and down as we navigate cross-country through the burn area.  Deer and elk are frequently seen in this area.  The last 400' or so of elevation gain to get to the top of Raleigh Peak is a little bit steep and can be slippery if there is snow.  Scrambling up the final summit boulders is optional.  Great views from the top for miles.

Bring warm layers, and be prepared for wind and possible rain or snow.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
