BUYERS: You will now have several payment options: Credit/debit cards or cash

SELLERS: Bring your items to the AMC (first floor conference room) on Thursday, May 16 from 3:00-7:00pm or Friday, May 17, from 3:00-5:30pm. For CMC members who are selling items, 15% of the sale price of each item will go to the CMC and the rest gets back to you! Non Members, join the CMC online before the sale or when you drop off your gear and we will waive the seller fees entirely!

For convenience, please download our seller sheet to mark your items before drop-off. This will make the drop-off a much quicker process for you! Simply have a staff / volunteer check your seller sheet and items to make sure everything is marked correctly, and you're done!

Click here: Downloadable / printable seller sheet

Supplies and seller sheets will be provided by the CMC during the drop-off times listed above, for those who need them.

Each item you are selling needs to be listed on your seller sheet AND on the physical item. Please use tape with markers, hole-punched notecards connected by rubberband, or any method that clearly shows your last name, item #, price, and brief description on EACH physical item.

For example:   Last Name #01 Red Patagonia Jacket $20

Last Name #02 Orange Climbing Chalk Bag $5

Unsold gear must be picked up, or have arrangements made with the CMC with when you will be picking up the gear, by 6pm on the Friday following the sale, before it is donated to CMC partners.

Payments to sellers can come in the form of cash when you pickup unsold items or check ($5 proccessing fee for checks). Checks will be sent to sellers by mail in the form of a check in the weeks following the event. Please ensure your mailing address is on your seller sheet. You may ask to see your seller sheet before leaving the event to see how you made out, but payments will not be ready immediately following sale.

What type of Gear can I sell? Please no worn out boots, no "city" or tattered clothing (outdoor clothing only - example: no jeans), no heavily used climbing gear, no old style straight skis. Ancient items are extremely unlikely to sell, and therefore should not be brought in. This is a sale of quality outdoor gear only.

How should I price my items? Gear that sells is predominantly lightly used, and available for about half of the retail price, or less. The more used, the cheaper your price should be. Even if you have an item that is "brand new," you should not expect it to sell for full retail pr

Volunteers are needed to help with pre-sale setup, sale monitoring, cashiering, and post-sale cleanup.

Hours needed for volunteers:  3:00-7:00 pm Thursday, May 16, and 3:00-9:00pm Friday, May 17.  Pick a few hours when you can help and email

What is Consignment? Consignment is a business arrangement in which a business, also referred to as a consignee, agrees to pay a seller, or consignor, for merchandise after the item sells. The business accepts items for sale and agrees to pay the seller a percentage of the proceeds if and when the goods do sell.  The seller is usually responsible for loss, shrinkage, or damage of its merchandise while in the control and custody of the consignee.

Colorado Mountain Club is not responsible for item loss, stolen, missing or damaged while in custody during the Gear Swap event.  Seller must accept these terms and conditions prior to paritipating and dropping off items for sale.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
