This trip is limited members who are fully vaccinated.
Meet at Wooly Mammoth Park & Ride , MM Pole at 9 AM. We'll get an early start PLUS miss most of the 8 AM rush hour.
We will make two pit stops: the first at the Visitors Center in Georgetown and the 2nd at the Safeway store in Frisco. We'll meet on the north side of the store, use the restrooms, buy anything one forgot and then head to the trailhead parking area from there. The drive is about 1.5+ hours from Denver.
At Georgetown, we'll check the weather and traffic before heading out in case we need to pick an alternative ski site.
The trailhead is 4.2 miles east on Tiger Road, which is a stoplight before reaching Breckenridge. Parking for 5 cars.

This trip is sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Over The Hill Gang, but is open to all qualified CMC members.
This trip provides easy practice for x-c skiing with more varied terrain, but still being in the Easy II category. No skins necessary but herringbone scales and metal edges are very helpful. I also recommend applying a glide wax (eg Green) to the front and rear ski bottoms. Use a flat cork to rub in the wax.
Our destination will be the Royal Tiger Mine and mill site. Along the way, we will turn uphill toward the Cashier mine site and reverse direction for a long ski glide in the tracks we have just made. Fom there we wil continue toward the Royal Tiger Mine.
The trip will last from 1.5 to 2+ hours, depending on the snow depth, side trails taken and time for lunch. Bring a lunch, but your car might decide to eat afterwards at the Sunshine Cafe in Silverthorne (maybe even the Smokin Yard BBQ place in Idaho Springs). All is dependent on your car's preference and the latest Covid guidelines. So be sure to at least carry a snack and warm water with you.
Bring a thermos of a hot liquid plus water.
Check out the Denver Group website: CMCDenver.org. It has more information than does the regular CMC website about the various activities of the Denver Group.
Your car will have one or two pit stops on the way home.
