Meet at the Wooly Mammoth Park-N-Ride, Section AA. I'll be driving a silver Nissan pickup with topper and Fort Lewis College licenses plates.
Please arrive at 8:30am so that we can arrange car pools for a prompt 8:40am departure. Current CMC protocols strongly discourage carpooling.
IF you opt to carpool anyway:
We will stop at the Georgetown Visitor Center (Exit 228) for a comfort stop enroute to the trailhead. Masks are required.

It's okay to send me a text, but I will probably call rather than text you back if you need a response.
This is an out-and-back route that takes us 3.2 miles from the Bakerville trailhead until the Herman Gulch turn off, We'll plan to eat lunch near the turn-around point.
The Bakerville-Loveland trail is a nice wide paved bike trail that runs five miles from Bakerville to the Loveland Valley Ski Area. (As indicated above, we will NOT be snowshoeing the entire route.) During the winter, it is normally covered with several feet of hardpacked snow, making it a great early season snowshoe destination.
Click here for the route map and here for a more detailed description of the Bakerville-Loveland Trail.
In addition to your 10 essentials, bring gaiters, trekking poles, sunscreen, extra water, a hot beverage, and lunch/snacks.
Be prepared for a 4-5 hour work out at high altitude (9800' - 10,300').
If this is your first snowshoe trip of the season (or ever), please double-check your equipment at home to avoid surprises when we arrive at the trailhead.
I will send out additional details and a weather update 1-2 days in advance of the trip.
Please let me know in advance if you have any medical issues that may affect you on this hike.
