Location

Meet Meet at 7:15 for an 7:30 am departure. at the Sheriden and 88th ave Park and Ride of HWY 36..Head north on hwy 36 exit on exit on to Foot Hills Pkwy staying in the left hand lane. follow the road and turn left onto Jay street to the end and make a right turn back on to hwy 36 and turn left at lyons following it to anohter right turn at a dead end.  Continue to follow the road until reaching Beaver Meadows Visitor's Center entering the park.  Turn left at Bear Lake Road and follow it to either Glacier Gorge or Bear Creek Parking lot. At the destination in Rocky Mountain National Park  at Glacier Gorge if there are parking places for all of the cars or Bear Lake.

Details

From Bear Lake turn left soon after  the Emerald Lake tralhead sign and follow the trail to Alberta Falls.and past to the trail junction with Loch Vale and Lake Hiayaha.  Keep left ath theis junction to continut to Mills and Jewel  Glacier 



This will be a snowshoe hike to Mills Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. Mills Lake is considered by many to be the prettiest lake in RMNP. It lies on the northern edge of Glacier Gorge, a strikingly beautiful U shaped valley carved by glaciers. Longs Peak, Keyboard of the Windsc Pagoda Mountain and Chiefs Head Peak provide a spectacular backdrop. 




Notes

There is an entrance fee of 25.00 per car.  If you a park pass, please bring it.

Only members that are fully vaccinated against COvid-19 may participate in this trip.

Please arrive a few minutes before 7:30. Carpooling is at the decision of possible drivers. Masks are strongly advised while riding in a car. Pleast bring small bills to pay the driver if you are planning to carpool. It is approximently $8.00 for each passenger for a car containing 4 occupants.
