Friday, January 28th 7:45am meet at the King Soopers 3250 Centennial Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80907,, Colorado Springs, CO. This store is up on the Mesa at the north-west corner of Fillmore & Centennial. Meet in far east side of lot closets to Centennial.

We can carpool/caravan to Lake City. We will check into our rented house around noon, drop off our luggage, etc. and head to the Ice Park for an afternoon climb.

Saturday, January 29th, we will climb in the ice park from sunrise to 11:30am. Then in the afternoon we will head to North Clear Creek Falls. (Bring snowshoes for the approach.)

For those that would like to return to the Ice Park are welcome to go back for Saturday afternoon.

Sunday, January 30th, we will climb at the Lake City ice park from 8am-12 noon. At noon we will return to the rented house to clean up and check out. We will drive home after that.

The rented house has 5 double beds & 3 single beds. There are also 2 couches and plently of floor space. If you come, please plan on being flexible! If you don't get the accommodations of your choice, please bring a sleeping bag and a ground pad as a back up for some cabin camping.

Lodging cost is $185/night or $370 plus 9.9% tax for the 2 nights. We split it evenly. If 10 people come then about $41 each. Please bring cash to pay trip leader.

We all chip in on group meals. I will send out a group email to coordinate the food efforts. Please pick the meal you would like to cover for about 10 people. If you don't sign up for a meal, then please contribute side dishs, salads, desserts, condiments, drinks, snacks, etc. Meals needed:

Friday dinner

Saturday breakfast

Saturday lunch

Saturday dinner

Sunday breakfast

Sunday lunch

Required gear: Harness, ice crampons, helmet, belay device, locking carabiners, PAS. (Ice tools if you have them.)

Required gear for Leaders: All the above plus: climbing ropes (dry), static anchor ropes, ice tools, ice screws, slings, etc.

Note: Another safe and successful ice climbing trip at Lake City. It was loads of fun and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. This was the second year utilizing the new ice wall which really adds to the ice park's capacity. For our trip to North Clear Creek, when we arrived there was a group of 11 people on the falls. That was really discouraging. So we went back to the ice park in town. Overall, it was another awesome climbing weekend climbing Friday afternoon, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning. ~Britt
