AN EVENING SUPPORTING EDUCATION

The Colorado Mountain Club’s second-ever Benefit Gala raises vital funds for our Youth and Adult Education Programs. Our Youth Education Program provides transformative experiences to the children and under-served youth in our community, instilling within them a deep love of nature and Colorado’s wild places while teaching critical life skills. This year we are seeking to expand our Youth Education offerings to the Colorado Spring area, which will allow us to serve 500 additional students.

“Our son loves every minute of time spent at these camps. I love that the days were spent OUTSIDE. In the mountains,  ON the mountains!” - YEP Participant Parent

The CMC’s Adult Education Programs act as a gateway to the mountains for novices and experts alike by removing barriers and teaching thousands of adventure-loving Coloradans the skills necessary to safely reach new summits.

KEV SHIELDS

Keynote Speaker

Kev Shields is a Scottish based all-round climber, well known for his solo climbing over the past decade with routes up to 5.13 and M10+, all done with one hand and epilepsy. Regardless of these and many other setbacks Kev has earned a reputation as a bold climber pushing his physical and mental limits in the arena of bold trad, soloing and Scottish winter climbing.

His story is one of a battle against the odds to succeed no matter the challenge—whether that be disabilities, people's perceptions, addiction, or bullying. Ultimately Kev’s is a story of redemption and freedom found in the mountains.
