Location

Car pool information, though discouraged by the CMC. Please do not consider carpooling if you are not fully vaccinated.
Wooly Mammoth at Morrison exit off I-70 across from the gas station, section BB is suggested as a meeting place. Car pool arrangements are the responsibility of the interested parties.

The Denver folks will meet the leader at Herman Gulch trailhead parking lot 715 am approx.

Contact the leader with any medical concerns prior to the hike.

Snack, clothing adjustments, restroom and other breaks will be only be taken as a group in an attempt to avoid multiple repetitive stops.

Details


Pettingell Pk is the highest pk in the Clear Crk group N of Loveland Pass. Ascend trail to Herman Lk then gain the E ridge for some fun scrambling. We will return via a more pedestrian route. Pace moderate, expected climbing time 7 - 7.5 hours, if this works for you feel free to contact the leader. Please include your CMC number which will allow the leader to sign you up. This is a fun class 3 climb but not so if the rocks are wet. This trip will be changed to something more appropriate or canceled if the weather is inappropriate. HELMET REQUIRED.
Recent solid verifiable class 3 skills at a moderate pace are required for this trip. NECESSARY equipment a climbing helmet and the 10 essentials.
