Huron Peak offers wonderful views in all directions from the summit. Our route is on a fine CFI trail, some steep sections, but without technical difficulties.

We will be above timberline for much of the hike - be prepared with sunscreen, lots of water, extra clothing layers, possible cold windy conditions. We will plan on stopping for clothing adjustment and breaks.

Any trip member with medical conditions that might impact the trip are asked to contact trip leader in advance to avoid discussions at the trail head.

We will follow the Northwest Slopes route as described on

Starting May 2021, the Denver Member Initiatives Committee (DMIC) is pleased to offer the third annual Ascending Hikes series. It is designed for CMC members of all ages wanting to experience new types and levels of hikes as well as gain new skills..

The series also provides an opportunity to meet CMC veterans, make new friends, and explore more of Colorado's hiking trails. The AH series provides everyone a supportive way to work on their hiking skills.

Hikes start off easy and gradually progress in length and difficulty so you are ready to tackle new challenges. We include 13r and 14er climbs just for AH Participants at the end of the season! No big commitment. You can jump in or out anytime. For questions write:
