We will be fishing the East river, Spring creek and Taylor river in the Crested Butte/Almont area.
If you are planning to stay in Crested Butte, Cristiania Guesthaus is a good option.
You can also stay at one of the many Airbnb locations around town.
If you prefer to camp, there are several campsites along the Taylor river (25+ miles away from Crested Butte), the East river and the Slate river (closer to town). Some campsites are first come first serve (not many available this time of the year). Others require reservation. DO NOT DELAY this step once the trip leader gives you the OK to make a reservation. Reservations can be made six months in advance. The trip leader will stay in a campground along the Taylor river but the meeting places will be as follows:
Friday 23: Cristiania Guesthaus parking lot. Crested Butte.
Saturday 24: Roaring Judy Hatchery on CO Hwy 135 between Almont and Crested Butte.
Sunday 25: (for those that fish on Sunday after the trip is officially over), Post Office parking lot located half a mile up the road from Almont on the Taylor river.
The registrants need to advise the trip leader of arrangements including arrival and departing dates.
Each registrant is responsible for making their own reservations and for paying for their own accommodations and meals.
Consider making dinner plans for the evenings of Friday and Saturday with your fellow anglers. Some anglers dine in town. Many restaurants to choose from.
Fishing and dinner plans are on your own on Thursday if you plan to arrive a day earlier.
This trip starts Friday July 23 at 8.30 AM and ends on Sunday July 25 at 8.30 AM.
You can keep fishing Sunday after breakfast but be aware that you will be on your own. The trip officially ends after breakfast.
More details will be sent to participants once the sign up process is closed.
