The Young Gulch Trail is recently opened after several years of hard work rerouting the trail.  This snowshoe will begin at the Young Gulch trailhead and meander up Young Gulch and Prarie Gulch.  The climb is very gradual and has several stream crossings, some with bridges and some with narrow logs.  Be prepared with extra socks or warm/waterproof clothes and hiking poles as the stream may not be frozen over.  We will continue 4.9 miles until the end of the trail at the edge of private property near Stove Prarie Rd.  We will return the same route, or may go off trail and hike along the east ridge back to the trailhead.

*** This is a leader-in-training (LIT) trip for Jodi Vanden Eng ***
