Feb. 3 - Feb. 8, 2010. Cost $1020 - $1166, depending on accommodation level
Trip Leaders – Polly Hays and Joan Rossiter
Steaming geysers, bison, elk, deer, wolves, and other wildlife are all part of the experience of visiting Yellowstone National Park in the winter. Skiers, snowshoers, nature lovers and photographers will enjoy the convenient trails leading directly from the lodge to the geysers and waterfalls. The trip includes round-trip bus and snow coach transportation between Denver and Yellowstone, a one-night stay in a motel, 3 full days and 4 nights in the Old Faithful area of the park, snow coach drop-off fees, happy hours, and several meals (4 breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 3 buffet dinners). We depart Denver by bus on Wednesday morning, February 3, stay overnight in a motel in Jackson, arriving in Yellowstone on Thursday afternoon. We leave Yellowstone and return to Denver on Monday, February 8, 2010.
There are 3 levels of accommodations. Each room has 2 double beds and a private bath. Prices are per person based on double occupancy. The modern Snow Lodge hotel facility is $1166, the “Western” cabin is $1121, and the rustic “Frontier” cabin is $1020. (The cabins are 200 to 300 yards from the lodge so you may be “breaking trail” to the lodge when it snows.) The lodge contains meeting areas, a coffee shop, and a restaurant. Cabin accommodations are limited so sign-up is on a first-come, first-served basis for each level of lodging. The cost does not include remaining meals (1 breakfast, 5 lunches, and 2 dinners), optional transportation within the park (sight-seeing excursions), ski/snowshoe rental, or trip insurance. There is a 3% guest fee for non-CMC members. Register with the leaders by calling 303-964-8225 or e-mailing polly_hays@yahoo.com to verify an opening for your requested lodging type. Or, complete and send the form below and the leader will contact you. Registrations and all payments must be received by December 19, 2009. There is a $100 non-refundable fee for cancellations. No refunds will be made on or after December 19th unless a replacement is found.
